THERE IS KNOWLEDGE IN EVERY MISTAKE

Thomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of one suitable for use as the filament for a light bulb. When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, “All our work is in vain as we have learnt nothing so far during all our attempts to find a suitable filament for the bulb.”

Edison replied very confidently, “Oh, we have come a long way and we have learnt a lot for we now know that there are two thousand elements which we can’t use to make a good light bulb.”
