A farmer discovered that cranes were destroying his
newly sown corn, then one evening he set a net in his corn field to catch the
destructive birds. The next morning, he went to examine the net and he found a
number of cranes and also a stork.
The stork cried, “Please release me, for I have not
eaten any of your corn nor have I done any harm to the corn field”, “I am a
poor innocent stork, as you may see – a most dutiful bird, I honor my father
and mother”, the stork cried.
But the farmer cut him short, “All this may be true enough,
I must say but I have caught you with those destroying my newly sown corn and
you must suffer with the same fate as the company in which you were caught.”
Lesson: People are judged by the company they keep or
follow, keep good company
